It’s day 2 of the 4 day weight loss challenge but before I go into details about today’s plan let me recap on day 1 and how well that went.
Surprising it went really well!! I started the morning at 5 am (this is not normal for me but I had stayed at David’s house for the weekend and had to come back for work). I drank an entire bottle of water on the drive home instead of my usual coffee. After arriving home and having a little time before going into the office, I did my 20 second plank. This was harder than I thought it would be and hopefully will get easier as I go.
Breakfast was two eggs, cooked in the microwave, one apple, and 1/2 cup of blueberries. This really filled me up so it was a little later in the afternoon before I ate lunch. I didn’t even think about a snack in between, which is probably not good but I wasn’t hungry. For lunch I had salad greens with 1/2 a cucumber cubed up, a can of chicken breast chunks, and 2 TBSP of aged baslamic vinagerette dressing from Aldi. I got off work at 4 pm and after getting home I started making dinner and meal prepping for the rest of the week. Dinner was a 4 oz chicken breast with vegetable medley sprinkled with garlic powder, a no salt seasoning, 1 TBSP of worchester sauce, and sprayed with butter to keep it moist. I roasted all of this together in the oven until the chicken was done. I also downed about 5 bottles of water throughout the day.
I had the greatest intentions of getting on the treadmill for 30 minutes at least, but after doing dishes, two loads of laundry, and making the egg muffins for tomorrow’s breakfast, I sat down to rest for just a few moments. This was at 6:30 pm. Four and a half hours later I woke up (11 pm) and realized I didn’t quite make it to the treadmill. I think I was just exhausted from the previous weekend of being at the ball field all day on Saturday and then hiking most of the day on Sunday.
So moving on to day 2 of the challenge. I woke up this morning determined to NOT weigh myself because, really, who loses weight just in one day right? The weaker side of me took over, or the curious side whichever works. I jumped on the scale fully expecting it to not have moved and halfway expecting it to have moved UP because of the amount of food I had consumed the previous day. I LOST 4 LBS!!! Granted, I know those 4 lbs were probably fluid, but HEY, it’s 4 lbs of SOMETHING….GONE!!!! I’ll take it.
Breakfast this morning will be one egg muffin (I made these oversized so I’ll have one instead of two) and one apple. I decided to change it up a little from the previous set meal plan because the apple seemed to control my blood sugar and cravings for the day. I’ve already downed a bottle of water this morning and did the 20 second plank again (not much easier today by the way). For lunch it will be leftovers from last nights dinner of chicken and roasted veggies. Maybe I’ll get at least one snack squeezed in today but only if I’m hungry. I have a lot of house cleaning to do when I get home tonight but I’m hoping to squeeze in that 30 minutes on the treadmill at some point.
I feel pretty good though even though the sugar cravings hit me hard after work yesterday, but I resisted. I do have a slight headache this morning but I’m not sure if that is from sugar withdrawals or sinuses due to the crazy weather patterns we are having. Overall, I’m happy with how this is going so far. It might be easier to make this a lifestyle than I first thought!
